Nestled somewhere in the heart of Queens, The Field is a mom and pop Irish bar owned by an immigrant couple from Cork, the O'Malley's (relatives of two people you may be familiar with--Ricky and Caitlin). It is also the place of employment for Isabelle Evans, who's speciality is serving Guinness and creating little shamrock shapes in the foam.

The continuation of Santa Monica, Venice Beach is a bit more indie and offbeat than it's slightly upscale neighboring beach. Set on the west edge of Los Angeles, Venice Beach boasts some of the best street performers there are -- just don't go in the sand, you might end up with a shard of broken glass protruding from your foot.
